The course is targeted to licensed / certified clinicians such as psychologists, counselors, physical therapists, social workers, nurses, and physicians as well as to graduate students. The course objective is to provide the depth of knowledge in psychophysiology, biofeedback equipment, and training techniques.

This and other courses offered by the Behavioral Medicine Research and Training Foundation available in the BFE Online Shop, provide biofeedback professionals worldwide the opportunity to gone BCIA certified, without the need to travel. The BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance) certifies individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively re-certifies those who advance their knowledge through continuing education. On February 16, 2012, he will present “Psychophysiological Assessment of Chronic Pain” in which symptoms and their relationship to characteristics of physiological signals are reviewed. He describes how psychophysiology provides unique assessment and interventional approaches to pain. And, on February 23, 2012, the topic will be “Psychophysiological Assessment and Biofeedback”. Dr. Richard Sherman will introduce psychophysiology, the study of interrelationships between the mind and the body. One popular technique used in applied psychophysiology is biofeedback. This webinar will offer a great introduction to biofeedback for newcomers to the field and members of the public.

Q&A: I’m having problems with the Zune software :/?

Question by d|DUbNiUM.01|b: I’m having problems with the Zune software :/?
I recently got a Windows Phone 7 (about two to three weeks ago) and needed to install the Zune Software to be able to transfer media files to my new phone (LG Quantum). When I installed, swelled tried to install he software I was encountered with problems. It would stop installing and say that it was unable to install into my computer and gave me an error code. It then redirected me to an online Zune support page. I followed the instructions, which required me to install a Microsoft FixIt program, which then uninstalled Zune and gave me a different location to which had a Zune download. Once installing it again, it worked. I was able to put music and pictures on my phone. Then about a few days later, I clicked on Zune to launch it and add more music. The Zune thing appeared and then failed to open. A message came up saying “Sorry for the inconvenience but Microsoft encountered a needs to close” and it gave me the option to send an error report which I did. Once the report was sent I tried to open Zune again. And again the same message came up and I did the same thing. This happened a multiple of times. So i uninstalled it and installed it again, many times, to which the install was successful but STILL when i tried to open Zune the same message would come up. So I then searched my computer for any registering containing the word ‘zune’ and deleted it (apparently when I uninstalled it not all the files were removed). I just installed it again hoping that it would work this time. The installation was successful on the first try and seemed as if it would work but to no avail it didn’t. When I clicked on Zune, the Zune symbol thing appeared and closed and the “Sorry for the inconvenience..” message appeared again. I’ve looked online to see if other people had that problem but I haven’t found any. I’m on a Windows XP Service Pack 3 and it meets the requirements for Zune to operate. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND IT’S EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING CAUSE I WANT TO PUT MUSIC ON MY PHONE!!!Any suggestions? (: I greatly appreciate any help or suggestions!!!

Infineta Receives Patent for Deduplication Innovation

Infineta Receives Patent for Deduplication Innovation

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) January 26, 2012

Infineta Systems, the first and only provider of WAN optimization systems for Big Traffic workflows, today announced that it has received a patent (U.S. No. 8,078,593) for its ground-breaking deduplication (“dedupe”) technology from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The patent captures Infineta’s considerable research towards a massively parallel dedupe algorithm that can be implemented with significantly less computational complexity compared to the prior art while making optimal use of available I/O bandwidth. The patented technology serves as the basis for Infineta’s flagship WAN optimization product, the Data Mobility Switch (DMS).

“WAN-established replication of big data sets is coercing WAN optimization data rates to mount into the 10s of gigabits/sec,” said Joe Skorupa, Research VP Data Center Convergence at Gartner. “As a result, deduplication algorithms that cost-effectively scale to very high data rates will be critical to enable business continuity/disaster recovery.”

Infineta’s newly awarded patent represented an important breakthrough in WAN optimization technology for Big Traffic workflows that traverse enterprise WAN networks. With enterprise data sets reaching aggregate volumes in the 100s of terabytes to petabytes, and storage needs doubling every year, there is a dire need for scalable WAN optimization solutions to accelerate the large volumes of data being transferred between data centers.

Unlike WAN optimization solutions built using previously-patented dedupe algorithms, Infineta’s solutions, enabled by its new patent, can reduce trade footprints at multi-Gigabit speeds while incurring only microseconds of dedupe processing latency. While Infineta is focused on WAN optimization for Big Traffic, its high-speed dedupe technology also has possible applications in other market segments, such as inline and post-processing dedupe for storage systems.

“We are very proud to have been awarded this game-changing new patent, which validates our multi-year research effort and the uniqueness of our approach to deduplication,” stated K.V.S. Ramarao, Ph.D., CTO and co-founder of Infineta Systems. “Our patent disrupts the status quo and breaks the longstanding deadlock other WAN opt vendors have had on dedupe technology, while raising the bar for new solutions and opening doors to new markets beyond WAN optimization.”

According to In Sik Rhee, general partner at Rembrandt Venture Partners and Infineta Board member, “Infineta applied for this patent in 2009 with a vision for how this new deduplication technology would transform the entire WAN optimization market. As the first approved patent out of several more that are pending for Infineta, it solidifies Infineta’s technology leadership and underscores its ability to truly meet the requirements of its growing list of enterprise customers.”

About Infineta Systems
Based in San Jose, California, Infineta Systems is a privately-held, leading provider of WAN optimization systems for Big Traffic. The company’s patent-pending Velocity Dedupe Engine™ delivers unprecedented levels of throughput, scalability and bandwidth capacity to support critical machine-scale workflows across the data center interconnect. Its flagship product, the Infineta Data Mobility Switch, accelerates multi-gigabit BCDR (business continuity/disaster recovery), cross-site virtualization, and Big Data traffic. The company is backed by Rembrandt Venture Partners, Alloy Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners. For more information, visit http://www.infineta.com.
